SUMMARY:TALES first training event in Naples
DESCRIPTION:The TALES 1st Induction School took place in Naples from Feb 16th and 20th 2026. The school covered observational and theoretical aspects of the temporal properties of AGN as well as topics related to data science and machine learning. The astronomy lectures included fundamentals of timing analysis and statistics\, introduction to accretion flow modeling\, variability and transient science as a probe of the feeding and feedback cycle of supermassive black holes\, machine learning applications to astronomy. SUMMARY:TALES second training event in Petnica\, Serbia
DESCRIPTION:The second TALES training will be organized at the Petnica Science Center\, Serbia. The event will combine a Smart Data Technologies and a Core Professional Skills workshop. The former is designed in a form of a Hackathon by external experts\, Paula Sanchez-Saez (ESO)\, Paolo Bonfini (University of Crete | IA-FORTH)\, offering real-world training in machine learning applications to astrophysics. This 3-day intensive data challenge/hackathon aims for the TALES’s doctoral candidates (DCs) to develop advanced computational tools for analyzing AGN light curves and time-series in general. The latter will focus on Oral & Written Communication Skills and will be delivered by Skills4Science. \n The schedule and accompanying material will be available at the dedicated Indico event page.
